Resolved Question: Value per acre?
My family is trying to figure out how much our farmland is worth. we have about 150 acres or so of riverfront and hillside property. And about 95% of which contain virgin timber.
I would go to a real estate office to have them value it, but last time we did that, they were after us for weeks trying to list out land for sale.
is there any websites thjat I can help figure it out with? like determining factors and whatnot?

Open Question: What is it with these religious questions with quotes being misused? I’m saying the ‘eating shellfish = Hell’?
(Don’t fear the length of this – 50% of it is the quote from the bible on where it says don’t eat shellfish)
I have seen so many religious questions here, but I’m getting really upset with all the people trying to quote or paraphrase the bible, but doing it completely out of context or without using the rest of the bible.
One really big thing I’m reading in answers against Christianity is how eating shellfish means that you are going to Hell… I’ll even pull the verses that say that:
Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.
What else can be said about that, it sounds so solid? Well the problem is, people are just using this line and ignoring something so important, so crucial: That quote is from the OLD Testament of the bible, which was meant to be followed before Jesus came – (those were the rules to get into heaven before God sent Jesus to set up new rules in the NEW Testament). The Bible says – in the Old Testament foretelling this:
Jeremiah 31:31-34:
31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
Hmm… so if God is making a NEW covenant for the people to follow, saying not to follow what your fathers before had followed because He was making a new law…. then why are people still thinking that shellfish will get you into hell?
The only “Christians” that believe that are very often hypocrites that haven’t read most of the Bible. This doesn’t make the Old Testament useless – many of these old laws are very useful as life guidelines, I mean is it hard to think that we shouldn’t steal, we shouldn’t kill, and shouldn’t be mean to one another?
The fact is, the laws have changed, Christians are supposed to follow Jesus and the New Testament – Not the old laws where eating shellfish puts you in Hell.
So my question is, Now what do you think about the eating shellfish leading you to Hell??
(I apologize for the length…)

Goddess & Her Little Dog too 2.0… I am glad that you are so mighty and wise and ‘a better christian than me’ seeing how you feel it necessary to insult me as I try to learn and understand more about God… yes in my quest for understanding, it is the TRUE “christian” that is ready to put me down instead of help me up… Thanks for your input >.> (I’m so glad I’m NOT the kind of Christian you are – Praise God!)
Rico JPA… I do understand what you are saying, but I think it is important to pick out this problem for all the people who use it. And when it comes to eating shellfish, being homosexual, condemning them to Hell – who are we to judge?
My favorite verse: John 8:4-7
4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
This says it all – The people say isn’t it law (Old testament law) that she is a sinner destined for Hell? Jesus comes back with, Let God be the judge of that… God only.
Yet God does tell us this: Hebrews 10:
9…He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins

Open Question: Do you want to keep reading. Feel free to criticize?
Kylee awoke to the furnace kicking on. The old house was always snug but it was because the 1953 furnace was working overtime. She looked over to the leaky bedroom window and momentarily admired the strange pattern the morning sun made on the ceiling as it shown through the window’s layer of frost.
Frost is my frozen breath she though as she rolled over, stretched – extending her arms and legs, toes pointed but fingers rolled over slightly in open palmed fists. She turned back to her tummy again looking for her slippers. Spotting them she pounced from the bed on all fours, fingers still rolled over, landing with her toes spread and firmly planted in the carpet, back arched, and hands stuffed snuggly in her slippers. Pain sparked in her wrists momentarily but overall the leap had been painless and quite precise. No more broken nails at least, pouncing with her claws out could be quite painful she had discovered.
She walked four steps through the bedroom door toward the kitchen extending her limbs forward then back alternating left to right – the morning stretch.
Kylee had realized she was a cat while at work. The Kendal Black Paper Mill has stood on the steep banks or the Mississippi River near at the north end of Centerville since 1917. To this day the mill draws power from the Mighty Mississip’ via 4 six-ton cast iron turbines. Kylee’s chair was on a huge slab of concrete directly above HYDRO-2 (of the four) which sometimes causes her legs to go numb around three o-clock.
It had been about 2:45Pm one day as she watched a four foot ribbon of compressed wood pulp fly by on its way to a huge ream that she saw the mouse. It sat above her at the intersection of too wooden beams making up one of the plant’s giant rafters. She noticed her eyes narrow quickly to focus in on the creatures tiny movements. She felt her hand clench momentarily and suddenly she wanted nothing more than to be up there with that mouse – nothing more than to be chasing it; flying along on nimble limbs weaving among the wooden roofs sturdy structures leaving the vibrations, noise, and stress of the pulsing world behind; focusing only on the rhythmic pumping of tiny legs and flicking tail.
The feeling she had that day seemed odd but they stuck with her and soon she had developed an affinity for Milk (four gallons a week) and a dislike for baths. She first switched to showers and then to washing her entire body while standing on the white bathroom matt with a sponge and hand-cloth.
On this morning breakfast would be prepackaged albacore, and apple and a 30oz glass of the old moloko. She thought the Tuna smelt divine and washed it down in chunks with large rhythmic gulps. She had her glass raised high when she spied an old Chevy hatchback stuffed to the gills backing into the drive next door. She set her glass down slowly looking from the couch handing from the cars hatch to the real-estate sign (with no sold placard) to the car’s tinted driver’s side window.
hmmm possibly a little to subtle? She is not really a cat. She just thinks she is!
